The prerequisites are the basic skills necessary to operate a handgun safely, and the equipment such as holster, belt, knee pads.
If you would need a handgun, one could be provided.

The price for these two days is $325.00, all four days price is $550.00

Thanks for asking.

I don't mind members posting threads regarding their training classes, but if you've posted regarding a particular class or a particular company before, please combine them so we don't have to.

There are beginning to be so many training threads that we are going to begin consolidating them here. You're welcome to post them, but these types of posts rarely get many (if any) responses in thread. Hopefully you get members to sign up.

To make things flow a little better it would help if members that have a comment or question to email or send a PM to the poster.

Dominating CQB Conflicts - Las Vegas

Progressive F.O.R.C.E. Concepts, LLC wil be offering the following open event in April '05...

DOMINATING CQB CONFLICTS (force-on-force)
April 23-24, 2005
Las Vegas, NV
$450.00

This course takes close quarters lethal force training to the highest level. Modern countermeasures and tactical responses for engagements at distances of 7 yards or less will be analyzed and applied through force-on-force training evolutions. Mindset, skill-at-arms, tactics, and decision-making are put to the ultimate test when facing adversaries that think, move and shoot back. Students will partake in multiple exercises and scenarios against live roleplayers using realistic force-on-force training systems. This training methodology is the number one way of introducing and inoculating participants to the effects of survival stress during a high-risk encounter. Participants will learn universal tactics for prevailing in close range gunfights, close quarter performance shooting skills, split-second tactical decision-making, critical movement and positioning concepts, and how to defeat multiple aggressors in dynamic, deadly force scenarios. The level of training this course delivers is totally unmatched and non-existent in any other commercial or public sector program in the United States. The scenarios, tactics, real-world solutions, and instructional format presented put this event in a class of its own. Completion of an entry-level handgun skills course either through PFC or other credible organization is a pre-requisite. Attend this course and the preceding Searching for Adversaries on April 22 for $550.00. You DO NOT want to miss this highly acclaimed series of cutting edge tactical instruction and force-on-force practical application. Registration deadline is April 16, 2005. Martial Blade Concepts in Amarillo TX 14-15 May

It's less than a month away! I'm hosting Michael Janich as he teaches his Martial Blade Concepts class levels one and two in Amarillo, Texas. The classes will be Saturday and Sunday May 14th and 15th.

Mike is a super instructor. If you haven't taken one of his classes you really must. He's taken many of the traditional knife-based self defense forms from the Philipines and boiled them down into a simple and fast to learn system. In a weekend, a student can go from novice to extremely effective with a knife.

It makes a lot of sense too. You can spend years learning to defend yourself with empty hands and only begin to touch the level of effectiveness you'll have with a knife. Carry a gun? Well, a knife can help you to keep the gun from being snatched away. Also, do you ever go someplace where you're not allowed to carry a gun? I do . . . and my knife goes with me.

I've got slots available for the class and would like to see combatcarry represented in the class makeup. If you've ever thought about learning to use a knife to defend yourself, give me a call.

Chuck

While I never believed there was as much knife fighting going on as people claim, Michael Janich and Jerry Vancook are at the top of my "realism" list.

In fact, Michael Janich's tapes are the only ones I ever bought or borrowed. I even bought his butterfly tape just because a professional knife salesman should be fluent in everything made of steel.

Many people claim to have a knife "just in case," and the knife spends its entire life pealing fruit and opening UPS boxes. I've never felt any of the macho crap from Mr. Janich or Mr. Vancook on tape or in the written word.

And I'm a skeptic.

I was very fortunate. When I first took one of Mike's classes, who else showed up to visit but Jerry Van Cook. I really enjoyed spending an evening hanging out with the two of them enjoying some good steaks and imported beers. They are both as pleasant and funny as they are knowledgeable.
