When I posted the first notice I didn't plan to cause a problem but to instead inform my fellow Ohio Citizens that they can get their CCW License and not have to pay $150. A lot of people have added their own personal information which is fine but also not my intention.
If you need any further info please contact [email protected]

You didn't cause a problem, Hask. We were just getting so many advertisments that we put them all together rather than have them dominate the forum.....

Progressive F.O.R.C.E. Concepts LLC
PROTOCOM Tier-1 (100-400)
September 15-18, 2005
Las Vegas, Nevada
$600.00

This 4-day event comprises the entire first tier of the PROTOCOM system (100 through 400). Each day will address both the Pistolcraft and Combatives material presented in a given level; mats in the morning, range in the afternoon. Since PROTOCOM is a principle-based training program, it is possible to cover and complete an entire level of instruction in one day of training – providing participants are “switched on” and ready to train hard. Students will be taught the key concepts related to each skill-set and have the opportunity to practically apply core tactics and techniques through innovative and intense drilling. This is fast-paced, comprehensive instruction in fully integrated pistol, folding knife and empty-hand fighting skills. Pistolcraft modules covered will include Marksmanship, Manipulations, Ready Measures, Shooting Responses, Combative Shooting Positions, Reactive Movement, Multiple Threat Response, Close Tactical Shooting, and Bilateral Weapon Operation. Physical Defense modules covered will include Aggressive Response Tactics, Standing Escapes, Defensive Folder Tactics, Ground Countermeasures, Handgun Retention Tactics, Offensive Direction Techniques, Handgun Intermediate Force, Active Weapon Defense, Knife/Counter-Knife, and Weapon Threat Removal. Each day skills testing in each level will be completed to measure student performance and certify those desiring the personal or professional qualification. There are NO formal prerequisites for this event. Students are however expected to be safe and familiar with their chosen firearm. This tier of training is the first phase of instruction in the PROTOCOM progression and is designed to prepare students for Tier-2 (500 through 700). Graduates of any Tier-1 course may attend this event at a special price based on previous attendance - contact PFC for PROTOCOM student rates. Registration deadline is September 2, 2005. Threat-Focused: "Quick Kill"

Thought I'd follow precedent this time and do it right

Robin Brown (aka Brownie) is coming to Houston in the June/July timeframe to teach a two-day course in QK. Cost of the course is $400 plus ammo.
$150 deposit required by June 1 to reserve a seat. Course will be held either weekend of June 24-25 or July 8-9.

This is a "Threat-Focused" methodology and I believe it prudent to state that we are not in any way advocating that people stop using their "sights", but are rather trying to show people yet another piece of the self-defense puzzle. Everyone who works with Brownie will tell you that we are proponents of whatever will keep you alive and are not interested in replacing any other instructor or shooting system. This is important, because just as it takes an open mind to accept that every instructor (regardless of system) provides a piece of the puzzle it takes an open mind to learn something so utterly different from everything we've been taught.
Brownie's students and instructors are commited to keeping that open-mindset... and we're asking people who can do the same and want to add a very useful skill to their SD toolbox to come down and train with us.

I can be reached via email at [email protected]
Robin Brown can be reached at: [email protected]

There's a really good thread here that discusses Threat-Focused shooting, so stop by and soak it up:

Here are some links to some AAR's written by people who have trained with Brownie (the first is from a LE firearms instructor) -

Hey all -

I'm coordinating the Threat Focused course again for the weekend of Sept 30, same pricing info as above.
Course will be held in the Houston area. If you're interested you can PM me I'll email you the course POI, which covers the techniques we'll be learning and the objectives of each part of the course.

We're going to have some military guys as well as a couple LE, and I think we're going to get several hours of edged weapons as well.
I'm probably going to take a few hours and go over some C.A.R. stuff as well if we have time for those that are interested.

Also included in the course, but not on the POI, are the newly added No Light/Low Light drills.

Should be good times. Hopefully we can get some more people from this forum interested.

Stay sharp -

Connecticut Training Course Announcements

Hello to all,

For anyone who is within the Southern CT. area and is interested in tactical shooting and training, Williams Associates Protective Services, LLC (www.wa-protective.com) will be conducting our next Training Development Group (Aka: TDG) on Saturday 14 October 2006, followed by a special version of this program on Saturday 21 October 2006 which will focus on the use of the AR15 rifle.

The following information about this program is taken from our website and anyone who would like additional information is asked to contact us directly at: [email protected]

The Williams Associates Protective Services, LLC Training Development Group (TDG) is a loosely regimented group of participants who meet on a bi-weekly basis for the purpose of practicing defensive and tactical shooting skills which they are more often than not, never permitted to practice at public and even private shooting ranges due to insurance regulations or range policies. Critical basic defensive skills including: Drawing from the holster, reloading and stoppage clearing, use of cover and concealment, controlled pairs and hammers (rapid fire) the engagement of multiple targets, etc. are all part of the of this program. In addition to the participant being able to practice these important skills, staff and adjunct instructors of Williams Associates continually monitor the firing line and provide both individual attention and group direction / instruction to the shooters.

The sessions typically run between 4 - 5 hours in length and meet bi-weekly on Saturday or Sunday afternoons at 5:00pm in Bridgeport, CT. The cost of the program, $60.00 per person includes all required classroom time, instructor fees, range time, targets and all personal safety equipment. The only additional cost to the participant is the cost of ammunition which if purchased through Williams Associates is discounted. Typically the participant will need an average of 300 rounds of ammunition per session. For those who require the use of a rental firearm during these sessions, a limited selection of arms are available.

At this time there are limited open slots available.

Be Safe

"The Test" force-on-force tactical decision making

Ever wondered how you would perform in a real confrontation? Here's a chance to find out as PDT will offer "The Test" on 12/10/06 at South River Gun Club in Covington, GA. This is a day of inter-active, force-on-force training against human adversaries. This program is designed to provide you with "emotionally significant events" so that if you are ever involved in an actual conflict, you will have relevant experience. Short of being involved in a genuine attack, this is the closest you can come to the real thing. You will be provided with all equipment needed which includes Glock 17 marking guns and revolvers which fire marking rounds and all protective equipment. Each attendee will participate in multiple scripted realistic scenarios in various environments (vehicle, street, business, etc.). Your actions will be individually critiqued during an after action debriefing and weather permitting, each scenario will be video taped for possible use during the group debrief. This course is not for beginning students. You should already have weapons handling skills before participating in this course.

Normally, this type of training is restricted to military/LE but this session is open for civilians. Tuition is $150.00 per person. A link to the online registration is https://www.personaldefensetraining.com/showpage.php?target=application.php&calendarId=105
A 50% deposit is required to secure a reservation with final balance at least ten business days prior to the class date. Class size is limited to 8.

If interested, please contact me as these sessions tend to fill up quickly due to limited class size and limited availablility.
