Used HK-91 Value

A friend of mine is looking to buy a used HK-91 (the real HK, not JLD)that has been made into a target rifle with Bi-pod, scope, match trigger group, match weighted handle (not sure what that is) and other goodies. He asked me if I knew about what the gun would be worth. I don't have the blue book of gun values and I really have no idea. I also haven't seen the rifle, but I would assume it is in pretty good condition.

Does anyone happen to know what it would be worth?

Thanks in advance

No idea but would be interested if rfurkamp or Class3 could judge that.

Sounds tho from your descrip' like four figure gun!
It really depends. There is the PSG-1 conversion, and the MSG-90. If it is a re-barreled conversion, with the PSG-1 trigger pack, receiver reinforcing rails, etc., $3500 would be a good start, depending on who did the work. If it's a William's trigger pack, stock barrel, and one of the PSG/MSG stocks $1800-ish. It's really variable, at the moment, since the JLD's are extremely high quality, the only benefit to the "HK" being the stamp, at this point. Get the most info you can on exactly what has been put in, and who did it, and post on www.hkpro.com -they'll give you the best answer.

Forgot to add- the scope mount should be ARMS, or HK stamped. Anything else isn't guaranteed true to spec. For a HK "target/sniper" it should have Schmidt&Bender, Khales, Swairovski, or high-end Leupold glass. Lots of people have "plain" 91's and have been prettying them up, to jack the cash vale. I love Burris, but putting one on a true PSG-1 build would be like putting retreads on your Porsche.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh I think it's about $3800.00 to 4900.00 if it's the H&K91..(G3 Type).........then it's DEF around 5500.00

Yeah:biggrin2: , factory PSG-1s were $10K, 10 years ago! A good build by one of the recognized HK smiths could easily "go there". It's just a matter of finding a buyer......
