Wow, I don't know if the majority of those comments makes me sick, or angry. Actually, I'm thinking both.

Here's a few of my "favorites"...

Only cowards carry guns, period ... if one cannot go somewhere without fear driving them to carry a weapon, they should stay home, like the cowards they are ... they passed this moronic law here in Tennessee, too ... cowards, one and all ...
I've never met a NRA member with a brain
Only cowards carry guns, legally or illegally ...
So because we like to be able to defend ourselves correctly, we're cowards. Nice to know. At least my body won't be found dead in an alley, covered in piss because the BG pointed a gun at me.

It's good of people to read and fully understand before posting their well-underinformed opinion. Most of the negative commenters think there will be a beer in 1 hand and a gun in the other. Even a slight amount of common sense would lead a person to think that wouldn't be the case.

I skipped reading the comments rather than letting it set the tone for my day.

MSNBC spews left wing propoganda.
Therefore, I choose not to believe or participate in any poll, study, or story coming from them or their ilk.
I get what you're saying, but I'd like to suggest that you do vote on these stupid media polls. We can at least deny them the opportunity to say "The majority of poll respondents oppose ______ ."

On this issue (carry where alcohol is served) in particular, I'm always amazed at the hysteria. It's perfectly legal for us in Pennsylvania to not only carry concealed or openly in establishments that serve alcohol, but to consume alcohol while carrying. It quite simply is not a problem.

I don't to to "bars" generally. Not my sort of place.

But I wouldn't not go merely because the place disallows firearms carry by citizens.

I find it fairly ludicrous to believe that such laws will keep anything from happening, which is almost exclusively related to bad people and bad actions anyway.

Criminals don't respect signs, laws. They're carrying anyway.

Upstanding citizens won't spontaneously combust merely because alcoholic beverages exist within the four walls of the place they're eating/drinking/shopping.

In states where laws don't invasively disallow citizens from carrying life-saving, self-defense equipment in such places, there is a strong historical evidence that such citizens don't spontaneously combust merely because of alcoholic beverages being nearby. Drinking to the point of (DUI) influence and firearms usage does not mix, which is why upstanding citizens don't mix it, even when present in a place where both exist.

The world won't stop if such knee-jerk fear of such things is avoided. We'll simply be minus the knee-jerk ordinances and statutes. It won't impact the percentage of bad things happening, as such things happen almost exclusively because of bad people and their actions, not because of good people spontaneously combusting.

And, when it comes to self-defense, a person that needs it in such a place will need it just as urgently as anywhere else. Making a criminal out of such upstanding people in advance of their needing to defend themselves merely puts good people at risk. That makes no sense.

I voted in the poll but the yes voters are not fairing very well.

As for the comments on the poll... I'm a firm believer that its better to let people believe you're ignorant than to open your mouth/post your comments and remove all doubt.

Voted yes in the poll. Of course, it isn't scientific, and you'll tend to have the majority of MSNBC viewers being antis. It would be a good thing, however, to have lots of pro2A folk jump on the "yes" bandwagon.

One thing I will compliment MSNBC, or rather their website designer, on, is the set up of the comments section. I wish all polls would clearly delineate the positions of the comments, as this one does. It's really a slick way to present the info, instead of just a long, intermingled list.

I voted yes, and I thought this comment made by someone was pretty funny and true!

That means that doofy liberals WON'T be in that bar. And if some crazy starts shooting, there'll be plenty of legally armed citizens to hel

I'm a coward... At least my family is safer because of my "cowardice." I'm happy to be a "coward" with a "coward" for a wife who will kill any B#$%@#% that tries to rape her rather than lie down and take it. I'm happy to protect my family through my "cowardice."
