As Bumper mentioned in recent posts, this is the new Concealed Carry Magazine section of the Combat Carry Forum. I am excited about having the opportunity to get to know some of you folks better. I envision this forum to be a place where you can give us input on layout, content, advertisers, writers, etc... the whole nine yards.
For whatever it is worth, here is a little backgroud and history of Concealed Carry Magazine. We printed our first issue in February of 2004. The first year we did six issues and this year we'll be doing eight. We are now printing in full color throughout. We are an extremely lean operation. The entire staff consists of Maria (Managing Editor), Charlotte (Circualtion Manager) and myslef. Needless to say, this has been a labor of love for me from the begining.
I've been fortunate to have found an excellent group of freelance writers who do a great job. Coincidentally, we're always on the lookout for additional writers who have something worthwhile to say.
I think I'll end this intro here and say thank you to all who have subscribed to Concealed Carry Magazine. Please don't hesitate to give us your comments, ideas, praises and complaints!
Best regards,
Tim

Welcome to you as well, Tim. We look forward to having you, and Concealed Carry Magazine, be an integral part of CombatCarry.com. I believe the common goal of promoting the legal carry of concealed weapons will allow us to build a solid and lasting relationship. It is also a goal that I hope each of our members, and your readers, have or will develop. We're all in this boat together!

Welcome Tim...I thoroughly enjoy your magazine and have great hopes for it and USCCA's success.

Everyone on this board should be excited to have this first of it's kind magazine closely enough associated with us that our input can have an effect on it's promotion of our common lifestyle. Cudos to both Bumper & Tim for making it happen!
Aside from that, you never know how powerful our collective voices might become to influence positive change on the political front...look at GOA, CCRKBA, etc!

And since you are always on the lookout for additional writers who have something worthwhile to say, I'd guess there is enough real-world experience floatin' around here to tap for ideas, and from what I've seen so far, maybe even a few long winded enough to give a crack at writing an article!

Great Idea For A Magazine

I already read some of your "on line" magazine articles. They were just great. Your magazine is a winner.
Wishing you the very best of success.
I'll shoot a subscription order in to you very soon.
How many issues have been out (to date) & are back issues still available?

It would be sure interesting to read an article about some of the top custom "concealed carry" holster makers.
Those Great Guys like Louis Alessi, Sparks, our own Gary Brommeland & also Matt Del Fatti. Any chance of that ever happening?

Tim ... good to see you aboard. I am a newbie here, having seen the URL inside rear of latest CCM edition!! ... excellent idea. We did sorta ''meet'' early on when you dropped by THR and when I signed for my subscription from day 1.

Very impressed with your new all color version ... this is quite something.

As a seasoned ''ol' phart'' I am glad to see you covering senior citizen aspects - when I am coaching NRA courses I am finding more older folks coming and - it's good to get them up to speed.

Keep up the good work - I hope very much your subscription base has grown a lot - it deserves to.

Hey P95, good to hear from you. I'm glad you're still happy with CCM. We're slowly tailoring the editorial content to what our readers want to read. (As long as it involves responsible citizens carrying!!)

Thanks again for your early support.

Regards,
Tim

Hey logistar,
We're subscription only for now. I've extended this offer before to CombatCarry forum members, so I'll do it again. If you're seriously thinking of subscribing or better yet joining the USCCA, email me your address with reference to this forum and I'll mail you a free sample magazine.

QKShooter...
Sorry for the delayed response. We are on Volume 2, Issue 03. So that makes a total of 9 issues. Yes, they are available. I will warn you, the early issues are a bit.... rustic.

I like your idea about the top custom holster makers. I'll look into it. Please email me directly if you have any other input with regards to this.
Best,
Tim

Tim,

The last thing I need is another magazine subscription - I don't have time to read the ones I get now and am, in fact, systematically allowing subscriptions to lapse.

Having said that, I recently subscribed to CCM. I like both the magazine itself (just got my first issue, but I've read others), and the idea behind it. I feel like I am supporting a good cause as well as receiving a quality publication. That's money well spent.

I have no clue what formatting a magazine involves, but if you can stick with your current layout where articles are continuous instead of the usual "Continued on page xx" fragments, that would be great.

Your publication is steadily improving - congratulations on a fine job and keep up the good work!

SSKC,

I'm glad you like the magazine & thanks for the compliments. I too hate how most magazines make you follow an article all the way to the back for the last few paragraphs.... no plans to start doin it.

Hi Tim

Tim,
I feel that CCM has the potential to be a very important publication. It is already my favorite magazine. By the way I am the guy that wrote the "Where to start" article and the not yet revised and resubmitted "mouse gun" article.
You guys are great!
