What type of sights do you prefer on your carry gun?

I've painted my back sights black and painted the front fluorescent red/orange.

I'm getting ready to take the plunge and have Dawson sights installed. Fiber optic red front and black notch rear.

What do you like and why?

...open,iron, and non-adjustable...

...less sharp edges...I learn the POA of the weapon...point shoot a lot and don't need precision sights...

Regular old 3 dot night sights. I point shoot too, so I'm not really focusing on my sights

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk, please excuse typos.
Fixed, I usually paint the front sight a high visibility color
Point shoot also. No need for the bells and whistles for me personally for SD.

I have painted sights, but I am waiting on a set of XS 24/7 big dots....maybe i will get them one day.
I put some Meprolights on my G30. Big improvement over the stock Glock sights both in terms of visibility and quality.
Factory sights here, its my opinion that when needed for self defense you wont be using your sights it will be muscle memory at that point I train once a week at the range for body mass shots and a few head shots just in case. But I cant say its not a good idea to have a decent pair of sights for practice.

I run almost the same setup as you...I run Ameriglo 'Hack' sights on mine. Blank rear with Bright Green (fluorescent) dot up front (which also has Tritium insert).

This setup works well for me because it forces me to focus on the front sight and I find that I can acquire a sight picture faster. And we all know that in a defensive carry situation every second counts.
Standard Glock OEM plastic sights. I have never tried anything else.
I have stock sights right now, but intend to upgrade my LCR with an XS Dot soon.

Not sure which route to go for the M&P and Glock out of Trijicon 3-dot or XS Big Dots. Any advice?
Trij's on most of my Glocks, even put a front Trij on my SP101 to aid in point shooting.
I will add Trijicon night sights to my Beretta Nano as soon as they are in stock again.
All mine are standard factory. Some I've painted with florescent yellow nail polish to enhance for low~light sight.

I've been thinking about getting Trijion or Big Dots night sights.

Question:
Can you change~out just the front with night~sights and leave the rear standard factory? The front sights are easy to swap out, but the rear sight require a costly tool to replace.
XS Big Dots...quick acquisition of target...JMO
Have trijicon on glock on nightstand but for carry on my snubs use big dot on front sight
With one exception, all my carry guns have 3-dot sights.
I like the tru glows on my glocks and the tritium dots on the others. I hate the factory glock sites ( just my opinion not looking to start something).
