It has been a long, tortuous (for me) process, but my wife visited the County Sheriff's office today to put in her application for CHP.

My wife started out leery of guns. She took a couple of training courses to get more familiar, shot a bit for fun and then, took her CCW class, recently. I've been cheering her along and encouraging her to take each new step. She has followed through and just has the wait for her CHP to be ready to pick up.

I am very proud of my wife.

If MY wife can go through this process, please consider--or re-consider--how to make the process as palatable as possible for the woman/women in your life. It is WAY worth it, guys!

Good for her, I know my wife was in the military for fifteen years and I don't think I can get her to do that but she want to go shooting with me those. I told her that she have to go because their being some brake in around ours home.

My wife has her CCW and there are some down sides to this. First you have to share the seat facing the door of the restaurant and then you have to worry about her out shooting you at the next renewal class.

We have worked up a word and action when we are together. If either of us see a threat or what we view as a threat we will say a sentence using the word lemonade. Each of us will seperate in opposite directions and look for cover insuring we don't enter each others field of fire. It is amazing to watch her become aware of her surroundings and start taking responsibility for her own protection. Before the permit her total action was to ask if I had my gun which she refers to as my dog it barks over here and bites over there.

Enjoy the new journey and congratulations to your wife and you.

Respectfully,
Bill and Ramona

That's GREAT!!! I finally got mine to shoot for the first time EVER. But she is hooked!!! And I think mine CAN out shoot me.

That was the rest of my range ammo in .9mm lol. She did that both hands, strong hand, weak handed, and ten rapid fire. All at about 10 feet. If yours still doesn't want to don't force them. Just chip away at it ;)
