I'm surprised and happy to say that Trump won the general election which put an end to Hillary's massive gun grab before it could even begin. However, in the months leading up to the election, gun sales have been BOOMING (no pun intended) due to fear of what laws might get passed under another Clinton presidency. I know that for the last year, every spare penny I had went to buying more guns, magazines, ammo, and related equipment. Now that we have a president that does not seek to destroy (or severely limit) the second amendment, do you think that the current pace of firearms will remain the same and November 2016 will set the record for most firearms sales in a month or should we expect to see sales to slow way down now that we can breathe again?

This seems to happen with the uncertainty of all presidential election cycles in recent memory. I remember when Obama was first elected a friend of my who owned a gunstore in Santa Fe had a picture of Obama in his store and underneath it had a sign "salesman of the year". Now that Trump is elected retail gun sales will undoubtly fall as has happened before when the election cycle ends or congress fails to enact new gun laws and uncertainty is disambiguated one way or another.

Fear sells firearms & ammo. And I'm still wary enough of people who won't (can't?) read the Constitution & judges who wish to change it, that I'll just...keep BUYING! :biggrin2:

All the people who were inspired to purchase their first firearm, or to carry, will continue to purchase more gear. After all, we are addicts.

Though I suspect lines ill return to more manageable lengths and hoarding may slow down until the next act of workplace violence. Oh, wait. We'll,be allowed to call it radical Islamic terrorism come January.

I predict falling prices and great sales soon because a lot of retailers have a lot inventory expecting another election panic buying cycle. Huge sales a coming to dump all that excess inventory.

Thank god I have 4 more years to work on my stockpile. I was at Sportsman's Warehouse today and the guy behind the counter said that they had 6 people on call, and people were asked to work open to close if Hillary won.

I walked in there and told the guy I have a truck full of bullets, powder and primers to return. He got a big chuckle out of it.

Got my license in April ... first/only handgun in August because of the impending election. The results won't change my newly found hobby.

I know someone who bought 3 AR's with the intention of selling them when Hillary got elected so he could make a good profit. I hope I can buy one from him at bargain basement prices now
Be careful, if he does not have an FFL he could be considered dealing in guns without a license given what you said in your post. It is my understanding that ATF is focusing on these sort of sales and viewing them as dealing in guns without a license.

In my pistol and revolver smithing business I am in regular contact with ATF field agents to clarify regulations and this is an area that they have mentioned on more than one occasion to me.

To be safe and legal I suggest if you want to buy one of his ARs you do the transfer through an FFL (there are many to choose from). Then there will be no issue and the transfer is done legally. You could negoiate the small FFL transfer fee as part of the deal to buy, saying you want to transfer legally.

Sounds like like the sort of thing that would be midway down a list. Those of us living in socialists states (California, Massachusetts, New York, ...) need federal legislation now that prevents states from imposing near virtual bans on handgun purchase, concealed carry, standard magazines, ammo purchases.... The list goes on. This is the model of the left. Legislate at the margins and in the cracks, pile it on until gun owners give up. It's going to be a long battle with the number of progressive federal judges, but with a properly composed SCOTUS we can win the long game.

I personally thought the market place had reached a saturation point along time ago but I was proven wrong. Could be wrong again but I think there is going to a reduced demand thus a buyers market with price of firearms adjusted down.

if prices drop, it will give people more of an opportunity to buy good holsters, belts, training, ammunition for defense & range practice..............

Didn't make the spare cash in time to get my first AR before the election...

Now I'm glad I didn't.

Should have the cash in another few weeks and I'm already finding my intended AR (SW MP 15/II) for under $600 with free shipping.

Those are the powers of the state not the fed.

The inability to buy any commodity usually causes increased buying until the same inability passes.....we just came close to a complete socialist/fascist takeover of the USA. Now the hoodlum communists whipped up by Bernie Sanders are rioting in the streets. This is visual evidence of how close we came to losing our 2A rights. So, yes the panic buying will slow down.

But the libs are still out there working against us at the state and local level. Trump's SCOTUS pick is essential to the 2A and he knows that. 2-3 more conservatives on the bench will seal the deal.
