Well, I finally got a membership at my local outdoor shooting range and have had the time off to take my XD shooting. My observations thus far are; 1. I love my XD :smile: 2. It hates WWB 165 gr FMJ 3. It really likes Federal 180 gr FMJ :banana: The attached photo is from 15 yards offhand and a fairly decent rate of fire with the federals, I won't post the winchester target as it's just outright embarrassing. All in all a good day at the range turning money into smoke and loud noise:danceban:

Mind telling us what XD this is? I'm assuming it's a XD-45. I have the XD-9 service model and the XD-45 compact and I agree, they are some of the best handguns around. My XD-45 compact will outshoot my friend's Kimber at 25 yards!

It is a XD-40SA, Bi tone dark earth and stainless, 4". Thanks to TX-JD and CMB. I've only put 300 rounds through it so far and am still getting used to the firearm. I'm more used to the Beretta M-9 I've carried in the Air Force. I'm thinking my next purchase will be a Ruger SR-9. Anyone have any experience with that pistol? I used to have a P-85 and want to try out the new model they have out. And I can pick one up for $399 plus tax, also I managed to get a P-89 from my father in law for my wife and she loves it.

I too have carried a M9, I must say that I hate it,,,, I do LOVE my XD.
I have a P-89 and a P-85, good weapons. Gotta have the XD though.

I'm willing to bet that this would be a more accurate statement
"I can out-shoot my friend at 25 yards".

No offense, but I find it hard to believe that an XD is more accurate than a Kimber.

Don't get me wrong, I'm an XD guy (My EDC is a .45XD Compact Tactical, and I have 2 XDm 40's and 2XDm 9's that will be given to my kids when they get a little older), but I've shot a Kimber and they are a quality handgun. What's more likely is that you are a better shot then your friend. :image035:

I own both XD45acp and a Springfield 1911. I shoot more accurately with my 1911 for sure, but, I am very close with my XD45. I honestly think the XD45 has the ability to be just as accurate as the 1911 but has a trigger that just doesn't allow the shooter to be as accurate.
