While the vote is great...... Take note that 46 senators voted in favor....... That is not good news at all..........

That's great, but that vote should have been 100-0.

Every seated Senator including Feinstein took an oath to defend and protect the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic -- the same oath every member of the military takes. This amendment should have included a rider that charges treason to everyone that voted against the amendment.

Good except for the fact that in order for it to become law the House has to also pass the parent bill with the amendment... And the parent bill is a liberal budget that is the exact opposite of the budget the house passed last week.

Not going to happen.

I'm grateful that a majority got it right (for the right reason or just to keep their jobs). It's a good win today for the USA.
...we oughta get the list of the 46 soon?

Just dodged a bullet. Again!

But don't fret, I'm sure they'll get another crack at it before Obama's second term is up.

And then we'll have to wait and see at who gets a crack at the White House next. Hopefully it isn't Hillary.

They took a "voice" vote. I wonder if they even wrote it down. Can't imagine they'd want it published, the 46.

Well, that's not exactly fair. The Congressional Record has summaries, of course. I'm sure they document it. Only real way to keep things straight. But on nitzy little amendments here and there, I've never found a good way to find out who did what, such as the 500+ tweaks to a budget before it gets voted on and passed. Publicizing it's something else entirely.
Don't start celebrating yet. We won with the assault weapons ban from dianne feinstein and now this but like people are saying. They will push and push until they get their way

I think this (passing) is what Obama was Hoping for; a ban on arms without making Democrats go on the record against guns in some of the "red" states they are barely hanging on to.

Now that the UN isn't going to do his dirty work, I expect to see a more aggressive push by our beloved White House.

53 to 46... majority on the correct side. There are always both sides to every issue. Nothing will be unanimus when it comes to the battle for the 2nd am. Take the win, quit whining and lets get ready for our next obsticle.

I forgot to say in my earlier post that this is GREAT news! Im glad that the votes went our way!
This is good news, considering it is a Democratically controlled Senate. One more victory. See, I told you guys in a previous thread that we are winning some victories. Now we need to get back to work on defeating all the other bad legislation.
Glad we won this one but 46 senators need a wake up call.

This is great news but i'm the parooid type. This still has to pass the house and be signed by the Obama. I dont think he will sine it. If the treaty comes before the Senate to ratify I dearly hope it dosen't pass
We are in a world of hurt people.

Nearly half of our Senators think that voting for the UN is the right way to go.They have voted to support a foreign entity that is hostile to the best interests of the United States.

We should start recall procedures immediatley. This is not a victory. This is a wakeup call. If we dont start removing them from office right now, this cancer will grow until we can no longer stop it and it consumes us.
