Trying to find out why spent casings keep getting stuck in the same cylinder charge hole on my S&W 642? Can anyone give some reasons why and some remedies to make this stop?

A couple of the easiest fixes would be that that particular hole is dirty or has a rough spot. One more unlikely is that the hole is smaller than specs and should be rebored.

Start by cleaning it and, with a good light, check for an obvious rough spot or a burr on the inside that might be holding the case.

+1. I usually use my Dremel and "High-gloss" polish my cylinders, when I get a revolver. The basic lapping compound on a bob is fine; of course, you can buy 600-1200 grit oxide compounds, if you really want slick.
