I suspect that Israel really needed this "Peace" (temporary or permanent) because I read from multiple sources (weeks ago) that they have been hit with missiles more than what has been reported & that their ability to destroy incoming has been severely diminished.
There are usually two sides to a story.
That having been said, missiles NOT landing in Israel anymore is lots better than the opposite.

The fighting/killing might end but, the hatred for Israel is not going to end so I cannot see this Peace as being permanent.
The shared hatred for Israel is probably the only thing uniting the entire Middle East.
Those countries could care less about Gaza, Gazans, Palestinians, Hamas etc.
They only care about seeing Israel off of the map.
For what it's worth, I'll hope for the best.

I doubt it.

Not until the last Hamas terrorist is gone, and not until the ideology is no more. Which I don't ever see happening.

There will probably always be, somewhere, people who will think extermination of Jews and erasure of Israel will be the "thing" to do. Their sister psychos (Hezbollah, Houthis) and their Iranian backers still exist, and they aren't going away soon. Plus, it's simply not possible to get 100% of all people in a war zone; certainly some have escaped, and they'll spread the ideology like cancer.

But perhaps full release of any remaining living hostages has been agreed upon, and perhaps every scrap of the dead hostages will be returned. We'll see. Hamas has shown itself perfidious and tenacious. No telling what the escapees will be capable of, but I suspect the worst. Being alive and determined, they'll insist on it. Plus, most of the wondrous multi-millionaire "leaders" of the murderous group still survive in their penthouse suites.

Hopefully, soon, the people of Gaza will realize the stupidity and lunacy of hiring terrorists to "run" them. Hopefully Israel won't be required to continue this operation to eradicate the terrorists; the anti-semites throughout the region and the UN's countries have shown they're warming-up for an encore pasting of Israel and its stance. Hopefully, though I seriously doubt it, the UN and its nations will finally appreciate that terrorists cannot be afforded a bolt-hole anywhere on Earth where they can fester and do their dirty work, not if civilizations are to survive.

Let's see if The Hague can find its integrity and reach down to the last Hamas idiot, to hold them to account for their 1000+ murders (and the 'felony murder' of 60K+ others), for accountability for the devastation they were willing to bring upon all of Gaza in order to "get the Jews" wherever they could ... even if it meant starving, terrorizing and killing "their" own people.

We'll see. Time will tell.

When and why did it ever mean something? The point of the Nobel prizes was to rehabilitate Alfred Nobel's name after he read a premature obituary of himself that called him a merchant of death for his scientific work on military explosives- rewarding people for their effort to further peace, their scientific discoveries, or their literary work is just the means not the end of the prizes.

I don't care one bit about the legacy of the name "Nobel" so the various prizes are meaningless to me (just like rich man's graffiti).

Perhaps Israel "is no different" than the US who carpet bombed Germany, and by doing so taught them that they weren't a superior race. -The state of Israel came into being by order of the UN in May 1948. The civil war over the future of the British Mandate started the year before when the UN approved the plan. Therefore Israel (that didn't will itself into existence) couldn't have started it.
-I'm pretty sure you're accusing Rome's collaborators for starting this mess not "Israel" (except maybe as code for "THE JEWS"). If you look at what the Roman government did in the following centuries (forcing rebel Jews out and allowing everyone else in to settle the vacated areas) then I too blame Rome but that doesn't get us anywhere.
-If I remember correctly, Israel was mildly opposed to the 2003 US invasion of Iraq until right before it actually started and then stood "shoulder to shoulder" with the US. Since you just throw out the allegation, there's not much to dispute.
-Gaza is legally a part of Israel so the Hague and Geneva conventions are irrelevant to their civil war. Citing those conventions is worthless.
-Israel does more to limit civilian casualties than any other military out there and Hamas fighters use protected / non-combatant facilities and areas as a refuge- when Hamas fighters violate the sanctity of "ambulances, hospitals, schools, mosques and catholic churches" they are responsible for that violation not the IDF. The screwed up bad by attacking the American ship, however, putting the Liberty off the coast of Egypt was a bone headed decision. By all accounts, this was the fog of war not an intentional attack of a US warship.
-Israeli soldiers do indeed rape and torture prisoners and that is wrong. However, which countries soldiers are 100% free from that bad behavior. Why is Israel held to a higher standard than anyone else?
