I'll chime in about my experience about A Better Belt USA.

I ordered one close to a month ago. From the time I ordered until it was shipped was two weeks, like they estimated. This was my first leather gun belt and I could not be happier. I opted for the Ultimate Gun Belt and this belt could easily pass for a dress belt. It looks great and performs just as well. It supports my Glock 27 extremely well whether I carry IWB or OWB.

I ordered the Ultimate Gun Belt in the following configuration:

-1.5" width
-None tapered ends
-Dark brown in color
-Dark brown thread
-Brown edges
-Nickel buckle
-Double stitching
-No velcro
-No reinforcement
-7 hole, 3/4" spacing

My waist is a 36" and I opted for a size 39" belt. When I am not carrying IWB, I am on the middle hole of the belt.

Hope this info helps those of you contemplating ordering from A Better Belt USA!

I have been wearing a Carhartt belt that is leather and Nylon webbing I paid $45 for it about 4 years ago and it is still doing the job. The buckle is heavy stainless steel and where the belt goes into the buckle it is doubled leather. I don't have enough rear end to hold up my pant without a gun but with this belt and a pair of Perry suspenders that works perfect for me. I wear a undershirt and tee shirt most of the time and leave the tee shirt or collared shirt untucked. Even when I am wearing shorts I can conceal any of my MPs which are full sized with no problems. And I wear my clothes one size larger than what will fit me. I have been carrying this way for several years now. Just thought I would let anyone know who has problems with always have to pull your pants up because of your firearm.

Sounds like a great deal. But I have to be honest, for $60 their leather must be low quality. To the average person, you wont even tell so that's good. But a great gun belt will be made from leather from either Hermann Oak Leather or Wickett & Craig. If I sold my leather gun belts at $60 I would be out of business in no time. WE spend a lot of our money for the business on quality materials. Sure, a cheaper price will get more customers, but in the long run-the belt lasting longer will bring more satisfied and loyal customers. But they sound like great people and have wonderful options. Small Business is certainly the way to go. Congrats on getting a great belt. Glad you are happy with it!

I just wanted to give a little input about my experience with Mike & Tracy at A Better Belt USA.
A GREAT experience from start to finish with them. It started when I called to get some clarification from them, on the options that they offer. Mike was patient & took the time to answer all my questions thoroughly. He was very personable & at no time made me feel pressured or tried to Rush me.
I placed my order with him and he told me he'd have Tracy call me back when my belt was complete, to verify my shipping info prior to shipment. 10 days later Tracy called and verified my order & information, she was very pleasant as well.
I received my belt 14 days from when I placed the order with Mike.

The belt arrived via USPS and upon opening it I was actually taken back. I know, ... it's just a belt, right? Well the belt (completely wrapped in bubble wrap) was there, along with my Sales Receipt were: a note outlining proper care & storing, a spare Chicago screw (in case one ever got lost), a small tube of thread locker for the screws (if I don't wish to change out the buckle), a leather snap-on keeper (to secure a cell phone holder or excess length on the belt), and their 100% satisfaction guarantee.

A quick inspection showed the belt had no fray or loose stitch, all edges were burnished nicely, and the overall 'feel' of the belt was great. Holding the belt approx. 6" from the buckle it will stand straight out, no unusual marks in the grain, color is very uniform & dye is into the holes. The belt fits very well. I ordered it with the Velcro backing, nylon re-enforcement, and double stitching... so it is very rigid top to bottom. However, when putting it on the leather does not feel 'stiff', just thick (if you've ever worn a multi-layer power lifting belt you know what I'm describing).

For comparison, I've been wearing my Crossbreed Velcro lined belt for the last year. It's a well made belt that I'm not unhappy with... however it is no where near as rigid as this belt.

The best part is that once I got the belt on... it looked like 'an regular belt'. I was concerned with the construction of the belt it would appear "tactical" or duty-belt like. I wear jeans every day, no 5.11 or similar style, tee shirts or tanks (tucked in) no cover shirts... didn't want something that stood out.

I will update this post after a few months to give everyone my honest opinion on how the belts 'wears'. At this point though, I've been VERY pleased with the whole experience I had with Mike & Tracy at "A Better Belt USA". Recommend them highly.

Respectfully,
Automatic

They look really good. I have some belts from RafterS, which are thicker than most around 1/4 inch thick. Loops and slots on some holsters did not fit the thickness. That was several years ago, and maybe holster makers have changed their measurements.

I assume no one has experienced that problem with these belts.

Well, I've had my Ultimate Gun Belt for 6 months now and I still just love it. What a fine piece of leather craftsmanship. My belt still looks and feels great and my only "problem" is that I've lost 40 pounds since I got my belt and I've had to add a couple new holes in it. Awesome belt. In a year or so I'll buy another smaller one.

Found this and had to comment. Before I do, thank you all for the wonderful reviews and recommendations. Now then...

We're in our fourth year, and we still haven't been asked for a refund. I should think that this a testament to our quality.

We have been running our Sale prices for the last two years despite constant increases in cost. We are going to continue running them through Labor Day.

I just received my "Ultimate Gun Belt". Have to say I'm really pleased. Stitching is first rate, finish is really lovely, buckle is excellent (brass plated for me). As said before, this belt does not look tactical or scream "gun". I'd be happy wearing it without a gun. I followed the measuring instructions on the web site and the fit was perfect.

I don't have a lot of experience using specific gun belts aside from a nylon/plastic duty gun belt that doesn't look right in casual wear. This belt beats the pants off (sorry) any other belt I've used. I suppose time will tell, but I'm going to order another one in black before Labor day is over. :embarassed:

EDIT: black version ordered!

Well, shoot! I just wrote Mike & Tracy a note of thanks for the nice new belt I received today and promised to come over here and brag about it. Wow, I guess I am a bit late to that party!!! I too am very pleased with the quality of the materials and stylishness of the belt. I chose the SS belt buckle. For the same price as I paid for another belt from a larger company (that shall remain nameless) I got, IMO, a better, stiffer belt. Nothing wrong with the other one but it is thinner and made from cow hide. It is more flexible and is a good belt ... just not AS good.

Never owned a gun belt or holster before. Had a Concealed Carry License back in the 90's and carried in a fanny pack. (I know, I know!) :gah: Have decided to qualify for a license again and have started the arduous "journey" of finding the right belt and holster. Found a holster I like, but the belt has been a real booger to decide on. After much searching and questioning on several forums, the Ultimate Gun Belt from Mike and Tracey's company (A Better Belts) seems to be my choice. I'm going to order the 1 1/2" width, single-stitched. Mike says it won't need reinforcing, but for $10 more I believe it's worth the peace of mind that it'll never bend over. Sure hope it's as nice as everyone says.

I can't believe it! Ordered my A Better Belt on Oct 18th and it arrived today......Oct 25th! Not only is that a ridiculous delivery time, but the belt is exactly what I ordered...........beautifully made.............and is the most comfortable belt I've ever worn. Unfortunately, the holster and magazine carrier I ordered won't be ready for another 6 to 8 weeks, so can't comment on how well the belt "carries". But I can highly recommend this belt and the service Mike and Tracey offer. I give them 6 stars if the highest rating is 5!!!!!
