You paid via a credit card right? I would not have ordered a second holster until I had received the first.

Call them, politely request a refund and the reason why, and see where it goes from there.

IMO, the BBB is basically worthless.
This is the best advice. Then if you don't get results, politely inform them that you will open a charge dispute with your credit card and that they can expect to be hearing from them to work it out. Businesses hate dealing with credit card disputes and will avoid it if at all possible. I have tried other routes, many that have been mentioned here, but disputing charges with a good credit card company gets results. It is one of the reasons I make most of my purchases with a credit card.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for the suggestions, and I apologize for my first post being a negative one against a company. I have never done that in my life. This experience with Alessi has been really frustrating. I am not surprised to learn they have an "F" rating with the BBB. I wonder if they are actually doing business.

I used a debit card to pay for my orders so I have no recourse as far as a charge back situation. It has also been too long even if I had used a credit card. All attempts to contact them have been unsuccessful.

My thought at the time of placing the second order was, I had a second weapon and wanted to be able to use the same shoulder rig for both and just purchase the holster portion. I also thought it might help get the first order shipped. Obviously it just increased my out of pocket loss.

Later in 2018 I saw they actually put a message on their homepage (not sure if it is still there) that they would not answer/respond to inquires about orders because it would take time away from them making holsters.

Anyway, it is what it is. Time to focus on positive learning.

So sorry to hear what Alessi has become. I still have and use holsters constructed by Lou some 30 yrs ago. I would highly recommend ritchieholsters.com as mentioned above. Skip and Bob do great work and if you call most likely Skip will answer the phone and you’ll be able to talk about his designs and get them tweaked for you. Skip worked with Lou Alessi for years and learned the craft very well. You won’t be disappointed.
Good luck.

Alessi will be at Shot Show. If I have time I’ll cruise by and see what’s up

Many years ago I dropped in on Lou Allesi, picking up a Holster for a member of the OPP Tac Team, Ontario, Canada. It was for a Browning Hi Power, beutiful leather.

While having a coffee, Lou showed me a modified S&W 9mm pistol, cannot remember the name?

But the two rounds he fired from it, at a lead? cover, hung on the back door, went through the cover, door, and empty Office, parked on the back parking lot! Trees behind that!

Real nice Guy, and tradesman.

not really...the website lets You announce to everyone Who reads it, That, You have joined them in the ranks of those who got screwed by whatever company You and them are reading about

Have heard many complaints similar to this lamenting their customer service and quality ever since the passing of Lou (2009 or 2010 if memory serves). Unfortunate. When i started in law enforcement about 30 years ago, his holsters were the talk of the trade and highly prized.

If you want a holster that is as close to the original Alessi quality and design, you pretty much have to go to Ritchie Leather. Skip Ritchie was a design and business partner of Lou. Last I heard, Skip was actually working out of Lou's old shop and was even using his old business' phone number. Take the money you were going to spend on the Alessi name and then see if Skip doesn't do you better. I think he will.

Sometimes the best place to buy an Alessi holster is on Ebay. Personally speaking, I wouldn't wait a year for any purchase to be delivered. If it's not able to be here within 5 - 10 days I'm not interested in it.

I had a problem with a reloading company. I sent them brass and they reloaded it. The third time I tried to use them my order didn’t show up. I called they said they had bullets on order. I called again and some other bull poop excuse. Finally I called the Police in the City The company was in. A Detective paid them a visit. They sent my money back and most of the brass. I considered it lucky I got the money and at least most of the brass and moved on.

Historically Alessi always put out the best working ankle holster & their shoulder holsters were incredible.

Sorry to hear that they're having issues. I don't think that any "maker" ever designed a more comfortable, functional, serviceable ankle rig.

For awhile there they were still putting out a very high quality holster with only a bit of lag time.

There are still some decent vintage ones to be found out there.
