Most of you know about the new Ruger ( Glock Clone) RMX. I'm torn between several Red Dots, BUT want advice on the Vortex, Holosun and several others . ( Trijicon, Burris, Shield and others)
I know many others read the pages, and hopefully all of you can chime in with your expert opinions of what might be a good pairing.
Ok, here we go, let's here it from all of you!!

My RMR died last summer. I'm planning on replacing it with a Holosun once I get some other more important things paid for. Haven't decided what model yet. I like the 507c that's on my G17, but it gathers dust and dirt. Thinking maybe going to one of the closed models.

The Shield RMSc is overpriced and underperforming, IMO. I have no experience with Burris products. Trijicons work great, with the SRO being one of my favorite dots. Holosuns bring lots of bang for the buck.

Based on my fellow competitors shooting Carry Optics and Limited Optics: Trijicon SRO is among the most reliable, but not everyone likes the size/shape of the "window." Holosun has probably the biggest bang for the buck, and their warranty/customer service are top flight. I've got Burris Fastfires on a .22 pistol and a .22 rifle, but they have smallish windows and rimfire recoil won't challenge their reliability.

Personally, I love everything about the SRO--easy to operate manual controls, no special tools to adjust the dot (a 9mm casing face fits perfectly), top-side accessible battery compartment, common direct mount footprint and great aperture view. I've sent mine back to the factory for refurbishing at no cost to me. The downside is, of course the made-in-America price, particularly when compared to the Chicom alternatives. China does make some great RDS for sure, and I do use some of their products.

+1 on Holosun's customer service. They replaced the 403 that broke when I dropped the rifle it was on. Shipped a new 515 with a return shipping label for the broken 403. They did that knowing it was operator error that caused the damage.

The last two red dots I’ve bought are Holosuns, in green, with the ACSS reticle. One is on my EDC and the other is on an FN502 range gun.

I really like the “training wheel” reticle. If presentation is off it’s easy and fast to correct and get the dot centered. Sure, I can practice draws to always see the dot when shooting at the range, but a real world fight may not allow a practiced draw.

There is a PDF on research and tests they have conducted. They do destructive testing, this is good info.

I use Holosun's. I like the features, the price and the durability. IMHO Trijicons are over rated.

Have you tried the 9mm Glock COA’s yet?
They released single stack and double stack 9mm guns. Neat system, likely not as durable as a P2, but nothing is; great mounting design.

Think I posted this on another thread not long ago. don't honestly remember.

Current RDS:
RMR on a G17 dead and needs replaced/repaired (10+ years old)
Holosun 507c red on G17
Holosun 515G-M red on AR pistol
Holosun 503GU red on AR pistol
No name 20mm RDS on a Browning Buckmark
Two UTG 38mm RDS one on a shotgun and the other on a Mini-14
Dagger Defense 2x DD240 on an AR

The UTG's and Dagger Defense are both red/green
The Dagger Defense is ok. Haven't had it long enough to form a solid opinion yet. Only 20 rounds or so with it. I do like the slight magnification. Seems to help a bit with my old eyes.

I've had a Holosun 508T X2 green on my Springfield XDM Elite 3.8 10mm for a couple of years and it works great. Love the reticle with 2 MOA dot surrounded by the 32 MOA circle. I got the titanium because it should be a bit more rugged.

A few years back Suarez did a torture test with the Holosun. If I remember correctly, it was the 507c that they used. It actually held up well enough to the abuse that they started selling them.
They did the slide cuts on both my G17's and the install of the RMR.
The RMR that died was a demo from them. If it survived 10 years after the abuse of being their demo, that's pretty good advertising in my book. I know I got it for a song, but it looked like it had been through WWIII.

My limited experience with Holosun's durability has been good. The ones on rifles have had no problems, and the 507k on my carry gun had a small tree trunk fall on it while I was wearing it; the kydex holster cracked, but the optic is fine and its zero didn't change.

Dual illumination RMR's on two guns, a type two on my EDC Glock, and an RMRcc on my commander.
Not trying to sound like a fanboi, but the RMR is mighty tough. What sucks about them is the dismount to change out the battery.

Out of the 4 I own, the CC is my least favorite, but only because it is a small optic.
