Change of address on TN carry permit

Realized my wife and I had forgotten to get our address changed on our carry permits when we moved several months ago. So off to the DMV we went with our $5 each for the address change.

Whole process, including wait time took less than an hour. They gave us a paper form to carry with us until the new permits arrived showing that we had the change of address in progress. Told us it could take several weeks for the new permits to show up.

Got the mail yesterday and there they both were in the mailbox. Total time from visiting the DMV to permits arriving: 9 days. Not 9 business days, 9 days. Not bad. Thank you Tennessee.

I really should do this, but was told the address in the computer is changed to match the updated address on my new DL...I hope that's the case.

I was told this as well. I spoke to someone at the permit office in Nashville who told me that when we got out DL changed it would be changed in the computer and would come up correctly for LEO if it was run and that it wasn't a big deal. So, while the move was going on and the unpacking and all I didn't worry about it thinking we would get to it in a month or so. And of course, we forgot.

Even though it didn't have to be done, my wife and I wanted the correct address on the permit just to keep any problems from coming up with a LEO who might not be aware of the fact that it wasn't 100% needed to have the correct address on there.

That's pretty darn good time! Last I checked, when speaking with someone from that department in Nashville, they were covered up with new permit applicants. In fact, they commented that they didn't initally think many folks would be applying for the permit. Apparently the person who forecasted this initially was NOT from Tennessee. Hope things are still going well for your wife Mike. If you need any additional prayers, "I'm your Huckleberry", as Doc said.

FL CWFL no longer has an address on it, but you still need to update the issuing department, which can be done on the internet I'm told.

Are you saying you are or have moved to Tennessee, or are you talking about North Carolina law for a move within North Carolina?
