Contact Ruger. They will fix the problem . Call them they will likely pay for the shipping also. Sometimes even best of Companys have a bad pistol.

 

And if you do it right away, it's possible they might get it back to you in time for Christmas!

 

So what you're saying is: you own multiple Rugers, including an LCR in .327 Mag. The .327 is the only one that has given you problems, so now all LCR's are bad?

Ruger's customer service is among the best in the business; perhaps you should let them show you.

Are your other Ruger LCR 38's working correctly? Sounds like with the high demand for 327mags, they rushed one through production. Send it back to Ruger and they will fix or replace it before Christmas.

 

Yes, 38's work fine. Maybe this is a one shot aberration, maybe not? I don't know. I'm just reporting about my experience.

Anyone at the factory that dry fired it should have felt the action was sticky and not smooth.

Is the design of the LCR more prone to problems than a S&W? Anyone compare the LCR to a S&W action to see if there are potential reliability issues with the LCR?

 

Yes. Give Ruger a call. They will make it right. They have for me. The two Rugers I bought both had to go back. One replaced, one repaired, no hassle.

 

The LCR has what is called a "cam action". It's supposed to smooth it out the pull, but I don't know if that makes it more likely to have a problem if things aren't working exactly right.

 

Buy an SP101, built like a tank.

 

One other thing...

The .327 is a different gun than the LCR 38 in that the cylinder is a different design and the .327 weighs lots more than the .38 LCR. Don't have the specs, but I think .327 is 3 to 4 ounces heavier than the .38 LCR.

 

I've been told the.327 is the .357 LCR with a six round cylinder and appropriate timing. That's likely your weight difference. I've dealt with Ruger's customer service and from first hand experience they will go out of their way to make it right. Call them if you explain it was a holiday gift they may even cross ship a different one to your FFL. The experiences I've had with Ruger is extraordinary in this day and age. I can say the same thing about Glock and Springfield Armory. Give them a chance to make it right and Happy Thanksgiving.

 

Too many LCR's in service for me to believe that they're all junk. Or even just the 327's.

Ruger will fix it. I've got a nearly 40 year old Security Six that has a bent sight. They would have fixed it free, shipping and all, if they still serviced that model. Coming here and knocking them over your one problem isn't going to get your gun fixed.

But then you didn't come here looking for advice did you? Just to declare that your gun was junk.

contact Ruger and they will make things right. Complain in a polite manner and you may get a free holster out of it like I did.

 

Call Ruger. Youll have a shipping label same day and about one week turn around from your door to them and back to your door.
Plenty of time for Xmas.

I have put a lot of stout rounds through a LCR .357 without a hitch...matter of fact, I am about to get another for one of my truck guns.

Now, I have S&W revolvers that I have never had a problem, also...I just love the trigger and the abuse (sweat and other moisture) resistance of the LCR.

 

I bought a 327 Ruger LCR and like it a lot. I took it to the range and fired a variety of ammunition through it with no issues. I then realized something troubling. When in full lockup, the cylinder would still spin freely clockwise. I called Ruger Service and the lady was very nice. I described the problem to her and she went and got a sample from somewhere nearby and to both our dismay her sample exhibited the same issue. She went and got a tech and he said it has to be sent back. They emailed me a Fedex tag and I sent it back. It's been well over a week now that they've had the gun and no word back at all. I am a little worried there may be a design flaw. I have quite a bit invested in holsters and ammuntion with this revolver.
