New to CHL, not guns

I was raised with guns and can even remember having shotguns and rifles on the gun rack of my pickup that I drove to school. Different world today. I am new to concel carry and feel like a total moron on a lot of things. I am (as my name indicates) old, fat, and I did not put in ugly but you can safely assume that. I am trying to find the best was to carry conceled. I have looked at IWB holsters and they look good and also checking out fanny packs. Don't really worry about quick draw problems but like to have my pistol with me just in case.. Open to ideas.

Welcome from Southwest Florida. I don't know if it is the best way but I carry inside the waistband holster covered by my shirt. I carry a Glock 23 . I don't think there is a best way, just something that you personally are comfortable with. I know some older people that do indeed carry fanny packs

Welcome to the forum. I carry IWB because that gives me the best conceal-ability, IMO. You may not feel you need to be a fast draw, but when you need it you need it now. Practice your draw with an empty gun. Also, get some training beyond your CHL class.

Welcome. This time of year an OWB style holster, well concealed by sweaters, jackets, vests, might do.
In three more month, when the deity turns the celestial furnace known as Texas up to high, some sort of small frame in pocket would probably be your best bet. I'm old too, not fat, I'll go along with the ugly part as well, and I have no solution that really works well.

I'm a t shirt and jeans type. The jeans have to be a tad large to stuff wallet, car keys, pepper, pocket holster, handkerchiefs,
and cell phone in there all at one time. Cargo pants help, put the gun in the upper pockets and the junk in the cargo pockets-
it doesn't work the other way around unless you have arms like an orangutan.

Welcome From Wisconsin! You'll eventually figure out what's the most comfortable & practical way to carry your firearm. Then you'll probably wind up with a drawer full of holsters like the rest of us.
