Ohio in general and Columbus Zoo

Will be traveling by car to the Dayton/Columbus area soon, and plan to visit the Columbus zoo with my family. I have two questions:

1) Is the "Buckeye tuck" still required when traveling in a vehicle in Ohio (i.e. exposing weapon while in car as required by law)?

2) Is CCW allowed at the Columbus Zoo, or are metal detectors present, etc.?

Thanks

1) No. (That changed in March 2007)

2) Not sure about Columbus Zoo. If the city owns the zoo then you can carry in the zoo itself but you can't enter any city owned buildings (restrooms, etc).
If it is privately owned then its left up to the owner...could lead to a misdemeanor trespass charge if it's posted and you get caught.

I know the Cincinnati Zoo permits ccw and they are privately owned.
If Columbus Zoo is anything like Cincinnati Zoo (in a bad neighborhood) then you could bet your last dollar that I would be carrying.

The Columbus Zoo is owned by the city of Columbus, thus making it a governmental entity. Even if you could carry there, (which you can't, it's posted) you would not be able to enter any of the buildings, including restrooms.

The Columbus Zoo is in a very nice part of town. It's actually in Delaware County, and not within the Columbus city limits.

Have fun, it's an awesome zoo, and tell Jack Hanna we said HI if you see him wondering around the grounds of the zoo.
