I currently have a P290RS 380 with approx 500 rounds through it. It does not like Fiocchi extrema, but has fed, fired, and ejected everything else without a hitch. So far trigger resets fine. It is the softest shooting 380 I have owned and I have owned quite a few. My wife has such trouble with racking a semi auto in general but finds no issues with racking the P290RS 380. It is small but not a lightweight at 20oz. It is quite accurate. I carry it often.

I have had a P290RS 9mm for a few years now. I have not had the problems the OP reported, but I have continually had light primer strikes with remanufactured ammo, even after sending it on a trip back to Sig, who couldn't find anything wrong with it and gave me lousy customer service. I can't blame them too much, though, because it says right in the manual not to use remanufactured ammo. I have never had a problem with new ammo.

My other issue is that side pressure on gun with some the some holsters can activate the laser. Then when you go to use the gun, the laser battery is dead.

After making it a safe queen for a couple of years, I recently decided I liked it and did some upgrades to it. I took a shooting class with it a couple of weeks ago and had no issues. Here is with a Sig/TruGlo tritium/fiber optic front sight, a Galloway flat trigger and Sig "enhanced" grips. I have started carrying it again.

I put that Galloway trigger in mine and was disappointed. I like the feel of it, but as far as adjustment, it didn't work. I either had no reset or no hammer release. I took the set screws out and it works fine.

I bought the slightly curved one. It feels a lot better than the stock trigger on my finger.

I had a gunsmith install my Galloway trigger and the adjustment is perfect. I haven't needed to touch the screws. I like the flat trigger because of the 290's short distance from the backstrap to the trigger face. The flat trigger is more conducive to using my fingertip and pulling straight back, rather than my natural tendency of putting more finger on the trigger and "pushing" the shot to the left. I can balance that out with that on most guns, but it's harder on the 290 and that trigger helps.

My trigger is MUCH improved after coming back from Sig, so I'd be hesitant to mess with a good thing now, but how do you like the Galloway? How much of an improvement is it over the stock?

The grip-tape texture grips it came with were a bit rough when carrying, especially with the extended magazine with the texture on the base, so I put the Liberty set on it.

Edit: I just now saw your above comments on the Galloway trigger.

I hope your Sig is fixed blitzburgh. I haven't had any problems with either of mine. I've been carrying the 9mm lately.
Thank you! I was able to run a few magazines through it here on my property before dark without any problems. I'm hoping to make it to the range tomorrow for more extensive testing. I'm glad to hear yours have been trouble free!

I'd say the trigger action is maybe only slightly better. The real improvement is the size and shape of the trigger itself. It gives me a little more reach from the backstrap, which I need for my large hands, and as I said in my previous post, the flat surface of the trigger is conducive to a better trigger pull for me. So it's really more about ergonomics and feel.

FWIW, I also got a stainless steel guide rod from Galloway, which I swapped out for the plastic one Sig provides. I don't know if it helps or not, but I have to say the stock ones really do look cheap. It looks like something that came out of a toy.

I also got a heavier recoil spring from Galloway, but I haven't tried it yet. I want to give that some range time before I start carrying the gun with it.

I too swapped out the plastic guide rod for stainless, but don't quite understand the need for a heavier recoil spring unless you are consistently shooting +p+ through your gun.

Sig fixed my trigger reset problem and I have since put 150 rounds through it without any problems. My trigger feels smoother since it came back from Sig but I doubt whether they did anything other than some dry firing after they corrected the problem.

I purchased a 290RS in anticipation for it to be an approved secondary weapon in my agency. The approval came out and I took it to the range. I had 3 rounds eject properly out of 28. I used both the 8 round and 6 round magazine to test. Additionally, the trigger did not reset 25 out of those 28 times. My slide does not cycle fully and the trigger needs that push at the end. My agency armor looked at it and theres nothing we can fix on our level, he has no recommendations other than to send it in. The 290RS received a thorough cleaning and was tested again. I didn't record the shots and problems again but it acted the same way. Called Sig today, sat on hold for 8 minutes while the phone rang. I fully expected them to be closed today so I will try again on Monday. I expected this firearm to be up to the standards every other one of my Sigs are. My duty 229 in 40 and my current backup 224 in 9mm have always performed flawlessly and I have had 0 issues. I was quite disappointed with this.

Glad to hear your issue seems to be fixed!

I was able to make it to the range twice this week and brought the Sig P290RS out with me and ran 50 rounds of Precision One 100grn FMJ through it, using both the 6 and 8 round magazines, and had zero issues with it. I also ran a few mags of Federal Hydrashok 90grn JHP and those were trouble free as well. There's definitely a noticable improvement from when I first got it and after Sig fixed it.

I do really like the gun and since it's currently my smallest auto, it filled a role for me. I'm hoping to be able to press it back into duty, but I want to do lots more dry fire and more rounds through it to make sure the trigger reset problem doesn't happen again first.

I sold mine at a gun show Saturday for more than I paid for it. I liked it but I also have the 9mm version and a couple of pocket 380s so I didn't see myself carrying it. I did pick up a Beretta Tomcat at the same show to go with my Beretta 21a.
If my wife decides she doesn't care for it, I wouldn't have a problem selling it. I would much rather have the P938 SAS.

I realized that I had several guns that were not collectible and weren't going to be carried. The Sig was one of them. So I sold several of them this weekend. I'll never be able to collect expensive handguns so I decided I'd collect some Beretta flip top and open barrel guns and NAA minis. I recently picked up a Beretta Cheetah, a Bobcat and a Tomcat to compliment my 92fs.

Updating on my situation: I sent my 290 back to Sig on November 16th and I received it back December 11th. Notes say they replaced the hammer assembly, adjusted the trigger, replaced recoil springs, and something else that I’m forgetting off the top of my head. Essentially all moving parts are new or adjusted. After testing it myself with 50 JHP and 50 FMJ rounds there were 0 issues. Trigger reset was consistent and it never failed to reset, no FTEs, and no other issues. During the entire process William Saunders, Customer Service, was in contact with me providing updates. Overall this was an excellent experience.
