Could someone list the guns that have the feature of both a decocker and manual safety, so that you can carry either D/A with the striker decocked and a round in the chamber, or "cocked and locked" with the striker cocked and the manual safety engaged.

Thanks.

I know the CZ 75 P-07 comes as both decocker and manual safety. It is user changeable. I don't have one and haven't had the opportunity to see how you change the configuration.

Add to the Taurus group the 24/7 Pro DS line. DS indicates decocker/safety. I figured that out after I bought one.

I always carry cocked locked and safety on, so that it is the same setup as my PT111 and my 1911. Thumb swipes safety off when coming out of the holster regardless of which gun I have on.

Beretta 92FS is standard with the parameters you asked about. As said before I think all current production H&K can be purchased with that option. I carry the H&K P2000SK V3 DA / SA and I use the decocker to make it safe for carry w/one in the pipe. No manual safety like my 1911 though.

I believe FN's line of polymer pistols falls in to the parameters you asked about, but I'm not 100% positive.

I do know that the safety/decocker works much like a 1911 in motion of usage though. :bier:

These can't be carried cocked and locked---the manual safety is just the decocker stuck in the decocked position.

To be technical about it, many of the pistols mentioned in the responses don't have strikers. Most DA pistols with decockers de-cock a HAMMER, not a striker. Hammers do strike firing pins. A firing pin is analogous to a striker, but firing pins do not remain cocked or partially cocked, as do strikers. (An HK P7 does, of course, cock and de-cock its striker.)

Except for striker-fired Glocks, which I got to know very well, inside and out, and the P7, I am much more familiar with hammer-fired pistols. As the OP is asking about striker-fired pistols, not hammer-fired pistols, I will let the striker-fire gurus chime in, and defer to ther expertise.

I didn't actually intend to limit my question only to striker fired pistols. I am interested also in hammer fired pistols as well that have that decocker safety feature.

I have seen one of our IDPA shooters using a CZ that has a funky hammer that can be set for either DA or cocked and locked operation---the hammer gets manually pushed flush after charging the weapon, but the gun remains cocked. Anybody know what I am talking about? I believe some Beretta's also use that set up...

Ron, I am glad you asked the question, because I was recently wondering the same thing myself. My interest is in being able to have a SAO gun that also exhibits second-strike capability because of the DA mode.

This my South African RAP-401. It's a single stack DA/SA all steel 9mm and is a take off on and improved upon Astra A-75 design. It has a single lever decocker / manual safety. You can carry it cocked & locked, decocked only and decocked w/ safety on. Though it weighs about 32 oz empty, it is an excellent carry gun due its thinness and the only gun I own that I can stand to carry IWB. The internals are amazing with no machining marks whatsoever. I would say it's just slightly larger [maybe 5%] than a Kahr K9, but just as thin.

The Browning Pro-9 and Pro-40 can. Although made by FN, this is what initially set them apart from the FN ones being manufactured at the time. Of course the Browning ones are no longer made. I believe the current USG version of the FN pistols can be carried both ways but the other versions can't. The safety can still be actuated once it's been decocked on these versions though. This is my wife's bedside gun and it's really a great little pistol...of course cocked and locked:

Deco met/safety combo

the Beretta PX 4 Storm platform along with the 92fs has this feature. Also, the HK P30SK (subcompact) has a variant that has a deco ken next to the trigger and an external safety.

The CZ platforms either have one or the other but not both from what I have experienced.

A few striker fired handguns with external safeties would be the ruger LC9s and the Walther CCP and I think the PPX M2.

Cz's are either decocker OR manual safety depending on how they're set up. Not both. A manual safety CZ can be decocked by pulling the trigger and lowering the hammer by hand (which is what idpa ssp and uspsa production competitors do).

The HK P7 can be decocked by releasing the squeeze cocker, and the squeeze cocker acts as a manual safety ( pull the trigger and nothing happens unless squeeze cocker is engaged). Probably not what the OP was referring to however.

Did not see that OP was in 2009, but what the heck.

So do the zombies. My guess is the OP doesn't care anymore (although they are still an active member.)

FNX-45 goes both ways... kinda big to carry concealed though
