I'm a SMSgt E-8. The USAF chevrons changed in 1994, MSgt changed to have one stripe up top, then two for SMSgt, and three for CMSgt.

I guess I can give a little, start spring of 1957 I joined the Navy over the next several years had time in Asia, the Black Sea, the middle east when it got hot in Beirut, Africa, N. Atlantic, Cuba, S. America, Red Sea. Boots on the ground in several of those places of which I really try to keep out of my mind, left when they let me go home
