U.S. Army 1970 - 72. E-5 Platoon leader. Vietnam and Cambodia. Mobile Artillery and Armored Calvary. Various duties such as convoy escort, prisoner escort, Acting Adjutant General and lots of perimeter defense duty since our guns were attractive targets. At 119 lbs. I was too light to lift the big shells or work on the guns. I pretty much did a little of everything else, even writing the letters to the family of those who died on behalf of our Captain and requesting medals for those who demonstrated bravery or just cut their finger changing a flat. The sad part was that many were killed by friendly fire or dumb ass stuff and I had to make it sound differently for the sake of the family.
