If you want something nice, go to Home Depot or Lowe's or Sears. In the tool department you will find various size metal and plastic tool boxes. Some have trays, others have drawers, etc.

I just have mine in an old aluminum roasting pan that rests on my "gun" table. It keeps them together in one bunch, easy to grab, and will prevent an accidental leak from spreading. When I travel, I have a old plastic tool box that totes my stuff.

 

I have a 'wooden' ammo box that is really too small for all my stuff. This thread is a great reminder to 'self' that it's time to get a more practical gun cleaning kit/box that will fit ALL my stuff...time to shop today.

I've used a tackle box for years now, the little divider keep all the brushes and mops of various caliber I have nicely organized. And he big compartment in the bottom keeps rods, cleaning solutions and rags all in one easy to carry box.

I actually use Shimano tackle boxes for keeping a lot of my cleaning/gunsmithing tools in. Spray bottles? Need a shelf for those.

 

Currently, it is a cheapo plastic shoe box, but that is only a temporary fix. But, until I come across something better, it'll do the trick just fine.

 

I have a 4-drawer Plano "tackle box" that I picked up at Bass Pro last year. It's compact and tidy, and with 4 pull-out, completely removable drawers I have one for almost every caliber group. Inside the individual drawer/boxes, the dividers allow me to separate jags, brushes, and mops. In the "AR" drawer, there's enough room for my spare bolt carrier assembly, front sight tool and broken case removal tool. The top of the master box/container has enough room for a couple of bore snakes, a sectional GI-type cleaning rod which handles .22-.45 cal, a small bottle of Hoppes No. 9, patches, Q-tips, and a few other odds & ends I think I paid about $20 for this box, and extra "drawer" boxes run about $2.50.

Next to the workbench I keep my long, fixed rifle rods on perf board hangers, and an old Hoppes metal cleaning kit box from the 60's holds the pistol rods and some random stuff.

 

I've got most of my stuff in a plastic toolbox that my wife got me for Christmas one year. It wasn't nearly big enough for my tools, but it works for my cleaning kit.

 

I don't remember the manufacturer but mine is a deep box with 2 trays for stuff and 2 gun rest arms I can install for a rifle.

Got it at Bass Pro for something like $20 a few years ago.

 

Something as simple as a duffle bag will work also. You can grab it and go, or leave it in one spot. It conforms to fit in drawers, or nooks and cranys also.

 

I've settled in on an old Haliburton type case that some electronics were housed in for a former job. Seems to be working for now.

The solvents, oils, grease, patches etc live in a couple of drawers in the bench.

Three small tackle boxes for muzzle loading rifles gear (one each for .45, .50, & .58).

Another tackle box for center-fire rifle gear -- brushes, jags, special tools, etc.

For each cal handgun, a series of Girl Scout cookie(?) tins (some years ago they sold something in hinged tins that look like books) -- one for each cal handgun.

The long one piece cleaning rods live in PVC tubes mounted above the bench.

For the range, I grab what I need -- (for a rifle) the cleaning rod rides in the hard case & for handguns put the "book" in my range bag.
