Buy one! It's kind of like an ugly dog, if you own it, it's not so bad looking after all.
After I picked up my 27, it's sort of growing on me. I think it has alot to do with it's functionality. It works for what it was made for, period.
It impresses me that there's a 10 shot .40 in such a small package. Does my S&W 19 look better? Much more so! 5" Colt Govt., yes. Beretta 96?, yes. Can I ccw them as easy? No, not even.
If it operates as well as I've heard, I think I'm going to be happy!

I have a 27 now and a 26 on the way. I'll be honest: I think they're sexy as hell. I don't get the ugly comments at all. Much better looking than a Sig, especially that ridiculous-looking Mosquito. Ruger LCP is nice looking, too. But I don't like the look of a 1911, either, so I know I'm in the minority.

I remember when the Glock first came out. It got bad press back then. Folks were saying people would be sneeking them past metal detectors at airports. I think us older guys that grew up with revolvers and 1911s still believe that is the way guns should look. I don't find anything pretty about a Glock. They work. They make a gun to suit about any need. The price is right. I have two Glocks and will likely get another. I don't particularly like the way a Glock looks. They do have some features that I don't like. I guess I will just have to say they are pretty on the inside.

I must agree with you as far as Glocks looking ugly but, I have a G19 and it performs flawlessly. To counteract the ugliness of my Glock I have a 1911 Kimber Crimson Pro Carry II. All I have to do is take it out of the safe, look at it and it resets my attitude.

Stevew, I'm still learning the Glock..what is it you don't like about them? So far with me it's the plastic sights, afraid if dropped there goes a sight! Maybe not though, because I have'nt heard of that happening yet. Has anyone?

Now, let's just slow down here! While I appreciate my GLOCKs as much as the next guy, I can not say that I think they are at all attractive in appearance. Attractive in function, yes. Appearance, no.:gah:

The only way I have found to make a GLOCK pretty is to put it in some nice leather!

Glad you like yours though!

I saw an extreme "melt" job done to a first-generation Glock 19, once. There was something about the softening of the lines and curves that made it more visually attractive to me. It'll never be the classic 1911 or curvaceous Hi-Power look, no matter how much is melted or reshaped, but it made quite a difference.

Short of that, I don't know what a person could do to change the look of a Glock.

Still, as some folks have pointed out, there is something really attractive about always going "bang." Yup. :yup:

For me personally, I don't really care what a new auto looks like. I want it to function properly, conceal well and work when I need it. That's why I love my Glock.

If I was looking for sexy in a gun, I would go with an old Colt .45. There's something about those lines and I guess the nostalgia of it that gets my blood going.

Bingo! :congrats:

Who says every car has to look like a 'Vette to be cool? Trucks don't look like Vettes, but I've seen some pretty good looking ones that certainly got the job they were built for done!

So why does a pistol have to look like a 1911 to be "pretty"? I think the Glock looks all business, like a truck. It's built to get the job done. Take it out and get it engraved if you want it to look pretty, you know, like a nice Colt .45 revolver!

I've always thought Glocks looked cool. Of course, the fact that I grew up playing video games and they often used Glocks is probably a huge influence on that.

I could care less what my Glock looks like. It works, period.
Glocks are not what I would consider to be "display guns."

I have NEVER had a misfeed with my G21 and hope it stays that way.
It works with all types of ammo and has been a good gun for me as far as accuracy goes.

Not sure what you're looking for, but the Glock is a blocky, bulky, black gun that works when needed.

+1 Best post of thread.

+1 Best post of thread.

I've been giving serious consideration to picking up a matching set of police trade-in G22's. My G26 needs play mates. :comeandgetsome:

The only good looking GLOCK I have ever seen is one that end up in the trash can!!:image035:

Anyway the best way to make a Glock look pretty in my opinion is to smash it with a rock and throw it in the dumpster! :hand5: I dont like Glocks... can you tell?
Man, if you weren't a Vet, I'd take offense. Seriously.:twak:

I have a G23 that I've been carrying for a number of years. I love the worn look it has. Reminds me of all the time we've spent together.

So I guess what your saying is carry it untill it a personalty all it own
right?
The more I carry my G26 the more I like the worn look too.
I worry about my Springfield EMP getting wear marks but love them
on my Glock .Figure that out ,will you.:scruntiny:
No big deal though, I like carrying the G26 better anyway.:hand10:

"How to make a Glock better looking"

How about "pretty is as pretty does"?

Glocks weren't designed to look good, they were designed to function as high-capacity semi-auto pistols. Since they do this well, they show up in holsters all over the country. Since they do this they have become instantly recognizable as very business-like-no-nonsense guns. Cue the entertainment industry's use of them in hundreds of film and television productions and you have an object that everyone is familiar with as a deadly weapon.
That makes it intimidating, and an intimidating gun is a beautiful gun.

So, here's to the "ugly" Glock!

Guns are like women...there's no such thing as an ugle one...they are ALL beautiful, it's just that some are more beautiful than others.:image035:
I used to hate Glocks, now I think that they are a piece of 'art'...fit the hand perfectly, flawless mechanical devices that can always be depended upon to defend your life.:comeandgetsome::king::yup::hand10:

Glocks are beautiful in operation, performance and reliability.

Just like the Hulk, not much to look at, but when he saves your ***** you'll give him a big hug

Undercutting the trigger guard makes the compact Glocks feel a whole lot better in the hand, and rounding out the front of the trigger guard goes a long way in making the gun look better. I've never cared for those ugly, "hooked" European trigger guards.

I thought they were ugly 20 years ago. They've grown on me since then. Not beautiful like a nice custom 1911 or BHP but attractive in a simplistic way.
